Football Betting Lines
12/31/2008 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed and Oakland Raiders kick returner Justin Miller have been selected as the AFC's top players for the month of December.
Rivers, the offensive player of the month, led San Diego to a 4-0 record in December, as the Chargers stormed back to win their third consecutive AFC West title -- becoming the first team to reach the postseason after a 4-8 start. San Diego crushed Denver, 52-21, Sunday in a winner-takes-all game to clinch the division and reach the playoffs. Rivers completed 80-of-121 passes for 1,054 yards and an NFL-best 11 touchdowns against just one interception.
Reed, named defensive player of the month, helped Baltimore go 3-1 in December, posting a league-high six interceptions along with 16 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He also had a fumble recovery for a touchdown in a 24-10 win over Washington on December 7.
Miller, who was acquired by Oakland midway through the season, posted a pair of kick returns for touchdowns en route to becoming the special teams player of the month. He had 20 kick returns total, averaging 27.2 yards per return for the Raiders, who went 2-2 in the month. He became the first player in Raiders history to post two KR-TDs in a single-season.

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds
Will he or won't he? Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.
Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.
"I've said that he's back, he's here, he's under contract," Jones said. "In the interviews I've just been through (to hire a new coach), it was very clear to me how highly he's thought of and how much of an impact he had on our offensive success."
Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.
Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.
But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.
Aside from the questions surrounding Terrell Owens, the oddsmakers at MySportsbook.com have concerns over starting quarterback Tony Romo's state of mind and whether he will remain a starting quarterback. It is also not known how players will adjust to new head coach, Wade Phillips.
